The Power of the Mind

Power of the Mind

The Mind is Mightier than Medicine.

Over the past few years I have been interested in how the mind works on a daily basis. How it affects the way we are and live. Not that I am a doctor or scientist, far from it. I have conducted a number experiments mainly on myself, and certain volunteers. The form of the experiments has been how the mind works or should I say the thoughts and thought processes of the mind. This all started really from reading one book. "The Power of Kabbalah." I must also say that I am not a very religious person either, even though this book relates to the Hebrew religion. More about the book later, but what made me realise after reading about halfway through it, was that the mind and more significantly the thoughts that come from the mind can have such a profound effect on the health and general well-being of the body, be they positive or negative.

So what are these experiments? OK, think of it this way. If you could heal yourself or even think yourself better, we could save millions that are spent on doctors and of course the Health Services. All this money could be put into research of the natural healing process of the mind and all the money that is saved can serve a better purpose.

But one thing sticks in my mind most of all, and that is, "it's not a miracle if this works", it has been with us for hundreds of years and certain people throughout history have understood this and developed it in different ways. "I don't believe in miracle workers." Yes I just said that. So of course this would include Jesus and that now becomes a debate on religion, which I am not getting into at this stage. What I have been seeking is proof, just like a scientist who needs that logical or scientific answer. "How does it work then?" A scientist can tell us because they have conducted experiments and found results, and so we respect the scientists and their conclusions. That's how we have been able to sustain and developed our technologies and medicines over many, many decades to the present day, with billions of dollars poured into research and experimental establishments, Universities etc. Yes of course, certainly quite a lot has also been spent on the workings of the brain and mind, but not in the way I have studied thoughts. My experiments have been simple, effective and most of all, cost very little, money-wise that is.

I am not going to explain in detail what my experiments have consisted of in this article, but I will explain the theory behind them. I have studied, watched and even tried some of the latest healing therapies, which to my astonishment didn't work. Yet millions of people around the world believe they do. Remember the words BELIEVE and BELIEF. These words are the basis of all my experiments. I associated these words to the things I did and the words that I spoke every day. I don't want to get into Religion at this point but it's worth looking at two links here, which refer to belief…

[Religion- sometimes used inter-changeably with faith or belief systems is commonly defined as 'belief concerning the supernatural, sacred, or divine, and the moral codes, practices, values, and institutions associated with such belief'. In its broadest sense some have defined it as 'the sum total of answers given to explain humankind's relationship with the universe'.]

[Secularism means: in philosophy, the belief that life can be best lived by applying ethics, and the universe best understood, by processes of reasoning, without reference to a god or gods or other supernatural concepts]

In other words, if I wanted something positive to happen I would just think positive things, not allowing any distractions whatsoever during the experiments. If I stopped the thinking process, then my day would be returned to, just like any normal everyday persons day would be, or what we believe to be a normal day. I don't believe we have normal days in our life, even though everything may be random in their processes, well that's what it seems like, sometimes. You could say that's a contradiction in terms. So to put it more logically, we expect our day to be normal, unless something unexpected happens to throw us out of kilt. And if this happens then we have our own backup system to put us back on the right track. Our minds are constantly active, adjusting and re-adjusting to everything we do, and this allows us to do something about the unexpected! Don't we? If we have to deal with unexpected situations then our thoughts go into overdrive. Some of us can prevail and adjust with everyday distractions and others just seem to struggle.

Let's move on now to explore our mind in a different way. It is understood, and there is also evidence, that some specialised groups have used the mind as a tool for different experiments. One such experiment is called "Remote Viewing.
(Ref. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_viewing)" This is were two people work together reading each other's minds or thoughts. Mainly in close proximity, but also at great distances. Ha, so we can read minds. Apparently we can. The CIA conducted many of these experiments for the use of spying. To send information from enemy locations, such as directions, roads, building locations etc. This would be ideal for the use of Tomahawk missiles to be programmed to hit their targets accurately and without injuring innocent people. Star-Wars stuff. Well not quite, you see there is electronic information the enemy can monitor such as radio, telephone and satellite communications. So who would think of monitoring someone's thoughts? Now if "Remote Viewing" was possible, which it is, then why not use the mind in other ways to be more effective for the individual. Do we already know these facts and are they being hidden away from us? Well again, I am not getting into any debate about secret government experiments.

When I hear debates about Spiritualism or Spiritual Healing I wonder about the spirit itself, the so-called life force that keeps us going (have a look at this link before you carry on.) I believe we all have some form of energy that is a higher self than the living body. The body itself is just like a vehicle that the spirit can reside in, no not live in, reside in. So when the body dies, what happens to the spirit? Some say it goes to Heaven and others believe it goes to the next plane of our eternal lives, that so-called Ether, and some believe it returns to start a new life back on Earth. We also believe that the spirit keeps us alive, that conscious spark that keeps us going. So the question is.... "What keeps the spirit alive when it leaves the body?" If the spirit is an energy force that has some kind of eternal life, then surely it must be the link to our thoughts and mind. Some say that the spirit is our subconscious and is constantly working even when we sleep. Is that why the body doesn't die when we are unconscious or asleep? Does the spirit keep us alive regardless of our state of mind? So many questions, and very few answers. This is why I have conducted some experiments. Don't expect anything fantastic here, because most of the experiments were actually just observational. NB No animals were used or harmed during these experiments, only myself.

I would like to bring into the conversation the word 'MORALITY', if you don't mind this sudden interjection . Here are some links before I carry on with the subject of morals. Now this is an interesting link….
http://www.vexen.co.uk/religion/rm.html. I came across this site while researching moral codes and behaviour. This guy has quite a considerable collection of articles on religion, art, books etc. Not, for the faint-hearted. The BBC has one of the worlds most informative websites, and I find that 9 times out of 10, when trying to find something factual on the web, the BeeB comes up trumps every time.

Morals - Social Responsibility Questionnaire - http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/min...als/index.shtml try this if you dare. Another link to Emotions and Instincts - http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/min....shtml?emotions

So where are we at this moment in time? Well I think what I am trying to say here, is that no matter where you look and what you find, the human mind is linked to the most complex systems in the universe. (The universe as we know it, so to speak.) So could the mind be the ruling, if not major factor to our complete evolution. Wherever or whatever that might be! Or is it the Spirit that evolves throughout eternity changing constantly with the Universe.

"Hearts, Thoughts and Minds." Three of the most used words that easily link together.
