This is difficult seeing as I have a forum. I used to work on a very popular forum several years ago and left quite disgruntled. I understand your problem and personally I stay clear of them simply because as you say one person believes one thing another believes something else. So the advice you seek is never very clear.

My advice is do what you feel is right, if it sounds correct and logical, then it probably is. If advisors start to quarrel and disagree over a subjuct just ignore any further advice and take a break.

Don't get stressed over minor things, there's more important things to get on with.

Answer to your Question:

It can depend on several things but the main choices are type of reading, the person I am reading for, the depth of reading the client wants to know but there can be other areas that have to be considered. I tend to take a selection of decks so that I am well prepared for any outcome or event.

Depending on the skills and knowledge of the reader doing the reading will either give you a false or correct answer to your question.

Find a reader who is well known and has a good overall reputation.

The internet is littered with all kinds of fake and false types and you should be very carefull who you choose to read for you.

Personally. My answer is "NO".

I have worked along side many readers in the past who believe they have certain psychic powers and yet not one of them could prove or show to me their powers actually worked. I believe it is intuition that is the true power when reading Tarot and not some magical power that certain people say they posses.

What worries me is that when a reader professes to have psychic powers the client may get a false reading from that reader and that is criminal as far as I am concerned.

I have written and discussed so much about this subjuect it hurts me to think that some people are willing to use this word just for effect and nothing less.

I use it simply because "Cybees Psychic Celtic Cross" is using the spread named "Psychic Cross".

I started to use this spread in the early 1990's while working on my first telephone Tarot line. It was slightly different from the standard Celtic Cross yet gave more clearer defined answers and so I adapted it by adding 2 more columns and introducing the "Focus Area" which gave me extra insight into the reading. I hardly use any other spread these days but I do test the Tarot every day by trying out other spreads and inventing new ones.

I have even got a spread that I invented recently to compare two football teams, the home and away teams and how they would match up prior to any future match they will play.

I tend to answer these types of question with the same answer.

Tarot and people can't predict, and so nobody who is unqualified can tell you this. The only people who can are doctors and specialists trained and qualified to answer this question.

Generally my answer will be, "I didn't know"!

Over many years of doing live readings, sometimes called, one-to-one readings, I have noticed many ways the cards start to give you, as a reader, more and more insight, intuition, expectation and of course experience in interpreting a reading so that I, as a reader can give to my client honest, clear, truthful and unbiased answers to their question/situation. 

I always tell my clients, " that the cards never lie ", only people do.

When I get asked a quick question about something and I don't have time to sit down and do a full reading I have used your Focus Area from your CPCC spread. It is very good for giving a quick response.

If you're a new reader then don't worry, it does tend to happen quite a lot. When I first started, Humph. Cough. Many years ago I used to ask the same question. I felt as if I was doing something wrong, then when I started on my first Tarot line and there were nearly 100 readers working there, I asked some of the very good ones. They all said the same thing. It does happen, and certain cards may come out way more times than others. I've had the Devil, Death and Hanged Man come out together on many occasion and just couldn't get into those readings at all. A couple of the very best readers told me not to think anything of it but to just carry on with doing the reading as normal and just concentrate on all the cards I draw and don't let anything distract me from doing the job at hand.

Certain cards would still come out more frequently than others so I took their advice and carried on with my readings.
